The vast majority of our skylights are wood-framed from a number of beautiful and naturally durable hardwoods. For clients who prefer a more contemporary appearance, we also offer extruded aluminum framed skylights. Either way, we always glaze with high performance double or triple insulating safety glass, in clear, tinted or solar cool tinted, and with a variety of PPG, Cardinal, LOF or Guardian Low-e coatings. To make our Low-e glass even more energy-efficient, we fill the insulating glass cavity with inert gas, such as Argon. Our Glass Performance link (above), will illustrate the performance characteristics for a few of our many high performance glazing offerings.

We clad the exterior of Renaissance skylights in historic and period-appropriate metals, including copper cladding, lead-coated copper cladding, stainless steel cladding and pre-finished aluminum cladding. Our durable aluminum finishes are available in powder-coating, Kynar, Trinar, or baked acrylic enamel, in a wide assortment of standard and custom colors to perfectly match your skylight to the architecture of your home or business.

As you browse through our skylight photos, you’ll notice that no two Renaissance skylights are exactly alike. Yes, some are flat glass, but we also build hipped roof skylights, ridge skylights, vaulted glass dome skylights, and even entire glass roofs with multiple glass valleys. Essentially, if it can be conceived, and if the design meets our stringent standards for long-term durability, Renaissance will build a singularly unique skylight just for you!

To further complement our skylight designs, we will add windows to create architecturally appropriate glass cupolas; also known as glass roof lanterns or glass monitors. We also build dramatic glass dormers, creating exciting new ways to open attics or lofts into sensational light-filled living spaces.

When you order one of our roof lanterns, Skylights, glass dormers or domes, we can outfit it with an operable glass roof or with motorized windows and removable insect screens. To further enhance the beauty and function, we offer motorized roof shades in a wide assortment of shading materials and colors.

When size permits, we will assemble your skylight on our factory floor, and deliver it to your home, ready to be efficiently crane-hoisted onto your roof. What could be simpler?
